Podcast submission

Submitting your show is usually the best part of podcasting, and we’re here to explain every bit of it.

What you’ll need

1. Your RSS feed address

That’s the most important bit. It’s the unique identifier your show has, and it’s used by the platforms to pull all of the relevant data to be shown on their platform. The address looks like this: https://feeds.castcore.fi/shows/your-show/feed.xml.

2. Your podcasting platform credentials

These can be the same you use for listening to podcasts or music, but you should keep in mind that the account should be the same you’ve set as the show owner in Castcore. If it’s not, you’ll have to do one verification step to confirm it’s really you submitting the show.

3. Time

Especially for shows with lots of episodes, the onboarding could take time. For new shows with a few episodes, the processing step on each platform takes a few hours.

Platforms

Always refer to the platform’s own guides if in doubt, since they can change without notice.

For each platform, you’ll find the most up-to-date submission links from the Castcore manager.

Apple

1. Log in – if you’ve not used Apple Podcasts Connect before, create an account. Your Apple ID will do fine.
2. Next to the “Podcasts” heading, press the purple +-sign and select “New Show”.
3. Select “Add a show with an RSS feed”.
4. Go to Castcore manager and copy your show RSS feed from the Distribution tab, under “Public feed URL”.
5. Input your RSS feed URL.
6. Confirm your email if you used an email not associated with the podcast feed. Otherwise, congratulations. It just works™.

IMPORTANT: You must manually publish the show by pressing “Publish”.

Amazon

1. Log in or create an account.
2. Go to Castcore manager and copy your show RSS feed from the Distribution tab, under “Public feed URL”.
3. Paste your link into the input field.
4. Confirm your email if asked, otherwise, congratulations.

Spotify

1. Log in – if you’ve not used Spotify before, create an account.
2. Select “Find an existing show” – the other option is for those who want to use Spotify as their distribution platform.
3. “Where’s your show hosted?” – select “Somewhere else”.
4. Go to Castcore manager and copy your show RSS feed from the Distribution tab, under “Public feed URL”.
5. Go back to the Spotify tab, and in the “Link” field, input the link you just copied.
6. If you didn’t use the email listed on your show, you’ll get an email, otherwise that’s it. Spotify will process your show and it’ll appear in their service in 24 hours.

YouTube

1. From the left menu, open Content.
2. Choose the Podcasts tab.
3. Choose Add podcast and follow the prompts. If you’ve never published a podcast on YouTube before, it may ask you to verify your identity with a government-issued ID first. After that, you’ll paste your new feed URL from the Castcore manager, then enter a confirmation code YouTube emails to your feed’s owner address.
4. Either way, publish the show manually once YouTube finishes importing it. That last click is YouTube’s way of letting you confirm how your show looks before it goes live.

IMPORTANT: You must manually publish the show by setting the visibility to “Public”.

1. Toggle automatic submission. Done.
